Victory Day of Bangladesh Celebration in Australia
The "Victory Day of Bangladesh Celebration" was presented by The United Bangladeshi Association of Australia in a ceremony at the Himalayan Emporium and Function Center in Banks Town last Sunday 20th December at 1 Pm local time in association with the Women Council Australia.
With immense bliss, the Victory Day of Bangladesh was celebrated last Sunday. Victory day is a national holiday in Bangladesh, celebrated on December 16 to commemorate the allied forces' victory over the Pakistani forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. This day marks an important celebration and closes to the hearts of the Bangladeshi community. On this day, Bangladesh achieved its desired victory against the invading Pakistani army. With an unforgiving tyranny of Pakistan and a nine-month brutal war, Bangladesh led to its victory.
The event had been celebrated in the presence of Hon Philip Ruddock, Wendy Lindsay, Government Party MP, Mr. Zahangir Alam, CEO Tenssor, Dr. Ayaz Chowdhury, Mr. Karl Salah OAM, Mr. Solaiman Ashrafi Dewan, Mrs. Srabonti Kazi, and more. Mohammad Shah Zaman Titu, Vice-President United Bangladeshi Association of Australia, was the event coordinator.
It had been organized to felicitates those Bangladeshi freedom fighters currently in Australia who have fought for freedom. The expatriate Bangladeshi Australian freedom fighters were honored for the courage, sacrifices, and risking their lives. The ceremony had started with the national anthem. The honorable chief guests and speakers expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to them for providing courageous assistance during the liberation war as well as for the sacrifices they had made.
Approximate 200 peoples were present at the event.
